Embodying God -- Our Erotic Awakening

I believe as a collective we have a deep and profound hunger to experience the I AM, the Divine Presence in our own bodies and at the center of our lives and our relationships. Many times we fear the intimacy, the chaos and the wildness that we find in the embodied life, we often seek a spirituality that is transcendent and disconnected from the real experiences of our day to day lives. My own knowing and deep personal desire are taking me into the heart of what often times are held separate...that of God, Sex and Love. And, in this process of embodying God, of waking up this consciousness in my own body I am blessed to be experiencing the beauty and the magnitude of life force and love force waking up...I call this the mystical erotic awakening. This powerful energy, which Barbara Marx Hubbard refers to as "suprasexual" is the most potent, profound and powerful creative force we can access and harness...individually and collectively. This is the alchemy and the fire of embodied love.

Pierre Tielhard de Chardin wrote, “Fuse the powers of the sacred heart with the energies of the awakened body and you can transform everything.” The birth of a new divine humanity that is trying to take place in the depths of our contemporary crisis depends upon a radical union of all the opposites that have traditionally been kept separate: a radical union of transcendence and immanence, heaven and earth, mind and heart, body and soul, spirituality and sexuality, mystical awareness and radical action. Essential to this fusion of opposites is a living experience of the divine nature of the body and the calm and glorious energies that this awareness can release.

This video blog is a continuation of my exploration into the practice of the Presence and my own personal journey into the embodiment of Love.

I am humbled and I am grateful. Amen.

As we embrace, accept, and honor our sexuality and sexual energy, we can use it in so many ways. In addition to experiencing pleasure, we can use it for inspiration, creative juice, connecting with and living desire and passion, having more energy and vitality, being more present, and so on.

So well spoken: as we breathe God into the body, as we acknowledge the fusion of the sacred and the erotic, our physical world can come alive. Not just in our own bodies, but in the world around us; in other people, in objects, in nature. We can begin to see and feel the divine presence in all things.
